The Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Zone 7 Headquarters, Abuja, AIG Victor Olaiya, has joined officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force nationwide in commemorating the 2025 Police Customer Service Week, a period dedicated to celebrating the partnership between the Police and the citizens.
This year’s celebration reinforces the core principles of SERVICOM, which emphasizes:
• Commitment to service of the Nigerian nation;
• Belief that Nigeria’s potential depends on prompt and efficient service delivery;
• Consideration of the rights and needs of all Nigerians; and
• Dedication to providing services fairly, honestly, transparently, and effectively.
AIG Olaiya noted that policing remains a service-oriented profession, with citizens at the heart of every operation.
He emphasized that the week offers a unique opportunity for officers to reconnect with the communities they protect, reinforce public trust, and highlight the Force’s commitment to professionalism, empathy, and accountability.
Furthermore, He commended the various Commands for organizing community engagement programs, open-door interactions, and outreach initiatives designed to strengthen police-citizen relations and also encouraged all personnel to continually view members of the public as valued customers in the noble business of safeguarding lives and property.
Reaffirming that excellent service delivery remains a core value of the Nigeria Police Force under the leadership of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D.
AIG Olaiya urged officers to uphold the principles of integrity, respect for human rights, and fairness in the discharge of their duties.
As the Police mark this year’s Customer Service Week, the AIG expressed profound appreciation to members of the public for their unwavering support, cooperation, and confidence in the Nigeria Police Force, assuring that the Force remains resolute in its mission to improve service delivery and enhance community partnership for a safer and more secure society.
He further urged members of the public to continue to partner with the Police by promptly reporting suspicious activities and criminal acts through approved channels, assuring them of confidentiality and swift response. The AIG also warned criminally minded individuals to desist from acts capable of breaching public peace, as the Nigeria Police Force remains ever vigilant and committed to ensuring that law and order prevail across the Zone.
