The family of Ramoni Sulaiman has made a passionate plea to the Inspector General of Police, Idris Baba to unravel the circumstances surrounding the death of their son who was allegedly killed by suspected land grabbers and the deliberate concealment of the murder case by the police.
The Ramoni Sulaiman’s family of Ogurun Eletu village, Mowe Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State, has petitioned the Inspector General of Police, Idris Baba on the alleged concealement of a murder case by one ASP Elias Ochidima Ajake and OC SWART, Abuja on the murder of their son, Ramoni Sulaiman.
In the petition written by the counsel to the family, M.A Ekugbere from M.E Figbele chambers said the named officers who are the investigating officer in a murder case and the SWAT officer in charge of Abuja are trying to conceal the involvement of some suspected land grabbers accused of murdering their son, Ramoni Sulaiman.
“Our client’s family informed us that their brother Ramoni Sulaiman was killed
on the 9th of June 2022 by NURU AKANDE JEGEDE, RASHIDI ONIKOYI, CHIKA
GODWIN (Land Grabbers) and others who dragged the deceased down from a moving
bike and beat him up with sticks, feast and clubs, while ADELEKE ADEWALE and
WAS JINADU on the same bike, flee and watch them beat him to a stupor, while they
were shouting for other Villagers to help.
“The deceased died at Night in their family house as a result of the grievous bodily harm
inflicted on him by these Land grabbers with visible clothing of blood and bruises on
most parts of his body,
“The deceased had earlier led the Police from SCIID Ogun State to arrest NURU
AKANDE JEGEDE from his hideout for an offence he had earlier committed and
The petitioner alleged that Nuru Akande Jegede “threatened the deceased that he was coming back for him, and upon his release, he led his boys to attack the deceased which led to his death.
Abeokuta (SCID), while the Police were doing a smooth investigation to arrest other
accomplice.
The Family of Nuru Akande Jegede went and brought SWART Police from Abuja who
came compromised, took the suspect and the case file to Abuja only for them to release
the Murderer back to society despite the autopsy report that collaborated the eyewitnesses, without charging him to Court, just to jeopardize
investigation and pervert the cause of justice
The deceased brother ABDULLAHI KOLAWOLE called the IPO ASP ELIAS
OCHIDIMA AJAKE who lied to our client with different stories first that the Suspect
Nuru Akande Jegede has been charged to Court in Niger state and was currently in prison
at Suleja Correctional Center, and when Our Clients saw Nuru Akande Jegede at Eletu the village confronted him and he told them his Family has settled the Police before he was released and when they try to arrest him to know if he escaped from Prison, his
the family gathered and resisted the arrest.
This prompted our Clients to put a call across to the IPO ASP ELIAS OCHIDIMA AJAKE to reconfirm the position of things and he was told another story that, the suspect Nuru Akande Jegede was charged to Court at Nasarawa state and currently at Lafia Prison and this point our client forwarded the video of the suspect at the village to the IPO on WhatsApp who has been telling our clients
lies just to cover up his illegalities capable of destroying the good image of the Nigeria Police, which you have created.
It sounds so ridiculous, for a suspect to be arrested for an offence in Ogun state, and
charge to Court at Niger State and the Nasarawa States respectively as fabricated by ASP ELIAS OCHIDIMA AJAKE OF THE SWART POLICE ABUJA.
The family through their counsel therefore write the petition to seek for the proper investigation and reassignment of the case saying that the IGP should “use your good office to Investigate and instruct the SWART POLICE ABUJA TEAM LED BY DSP JAME to return the suspect and the case file to Homicide department or the commissioner of Police at Ogun State Police Command for proper investigation and being charged to court and let justice be seen as done.
