Hon. Sikirulai Ogundele, Chairman of Ogun State People’s Democratic Party
The Chairman of Ogun State People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Sikirulai Ogundele has again condemned the recently held Local Government Elections in the state, scoffing at those who classified the exercise and its conduct as successful.
Describing it as a hoax, Hon Ogundele maintained that the report of the election to the people as successful was the figment of the imagination of a warped mind.
In a chat with THE STATEPOST at the PDP Secretariat in Abeokuta during the week, Hon. Ogundele in a rage decried the election insisting that “it is better described as an All Progressives Congress’ (APC) primary election”.
Hon. Ogundele was more infuriated by the story he alleged that the Chairman of the Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission (OGSIEC), Mr. Babatunde Osibodu was peddling about that the election was hugely successful as only one complaint was received over the exercise.
He described the story as a misreport and a blatant lie noting that his party, the PDP, not only submitted petitions but also went on air to protest about the election.
He wondered how the election umpire in chief could have claimed not to hear or see their protest or petitions.

Hon. Ogundele alleged that the election’s conduct revealed Mr. Osibodu as his “master’s voice” claiming that he played solely to the dictates of the party that sent him on errand, the APC.
He said the PDP has written to the Nigeria Judicial Council and the Nigeria Bar Association to question Mr. Osibodu’s competence as a learned barrister.
Hon. Ogundele said the petition was based on “Osibodu’s deliberate misinterpretation of the judgement of a competent court of law to exclude us from the election”.
“The PDP is not concerned about Mr. Osibodu’s personality but if he claimed to have these certificates and still read court judgement upside down, that’s where we are concerned”, the PDP chieftain said.
He vowed that his party would not sweep the election under the carpet, saying ” we will pursue our protest to its logical conclusion”.
