Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has today flagged off the distribution of 300,000 10kg bags of rice as palliatives to susceptible residents of the State.
According to the Governor, the bags of rice will be distributed to the 4,500 polling units in Ogun State.
He noted that the distribution of the palliatives is part of the efforts of the State Government to cushion the effects of the removal of fuel subsidy on the indegenes of the State.
The Governor during the flag-off ceremony held on Friday at Okemosan, Abeokuta, Ogun State commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the initiative.
He applauded the efforts of President, Bola Tinubu for the steps taken to check hunger amongst the citizenry.
The Governor assured that the palliatives will get to intended beneficiaries, irrespective of political parties.
Abiodun also promised that within one week, the people of the State would have felt the impact of distribution of the palliatives.
He thanked the residents of the State for their patience and pleaded with them to continue to be patient
