Oludaisi Elemide, the Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly has secured the candidacy of his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) for his constituency, Odeda in the forthcoming 2027 general elections.
Members of APC across the ten wards of Odeda Local Government Area on Wednesday affirmed Oludaisi Elemide as the party’s consensus candidate for the Odeda State Constituency seat.
The primary election which took the form of affirmation was conducted in line with the party’s guidelines and timetable and was held simultaneously across the ten wards of Odeda Local Government.
Party members from the 10 wards which include Odeda, Olodo, Alabata, Opeji, Obete, Osiele, Obantoko, Alagbagba, Itesi and Ilugun reportedly turned out in large numbers to participate in the exercise, described as peaceful, transparent and orderly across the local government area.
Elemide received overwhelming endorsement from party faithfuls, who expressed confidence in his leadership style, legislative experience and commitment to the development of the constituency.
Officials of APC were assigned to supervise the conduct of the exercise across the wards, while representatives of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) also observed the process.
Supporters and party leaders across the constituency described Elemide’s emergence as a reflection of the acceptance and confidence he enjoys within the party structure in Odeda Local Government.
They cited his performance as Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, accessibility to constituents and contributions to grassroots development as factors responsible for the consensus support he received.
Party faithfuls also pledged continued support for the APC and its candidate ahead of the 2027 general election, expressing optimism that the party would secure victory in the constituency.
The successful conduct of the affirmation exercise was also seen by party members as evidence of unity and cooperation among APC stakeholders in Odeda Local Government.
Reacting to his emergence, Elemide expressed gratitude to God and appreciated Governor Dapo Abiodun for what he described as exemplary leadership, fatherly support and commitment to sustaining unity and quality representation across the state.
He also acknowledged the support of Olusegun Osoba, whom he described as a revered national leader whose guidance and progressive ideals continue to inspire many public office holders.
The Speaker further appreciated Solomon Olamilekan Adeola for his encouragement and commitment to the continued growth of the APC in Ogun State.
Elemide thanked party leaders, elders, stakeholders and supporters across Odeda State Constituency for their confidence, prayers and support over the years.
According to him, his emergence as consensus candidate represents “a victory for unity, continuity, progress and the collective aspiration of the people for greater development and stronger representation.”
He pledged to continue serving the people with humility, dedication, accessibility and renewed commitment toward the development of Odeda State Constituency.
The Speaker also called for greater unity and collective responsibility among party members and supporters ahead of the 2027 general election.
