Sirs. I want to make a passionate appeal/suggestion that will go a long way in mitigating police manpower challenges in tackling our escalating security challenges.
This is by removing the large number of policemen attached to Corporate organizations, banks, Politicians, Celebrities & other VIPs and replace them with our retired but not yet tired police officers that are still ready to serve their Fatherland through the Association of Retired Police Officers of Nigeria (ARPON) Organization.
There are still young, capable retirees among them less than 60 to 70 years that can work as Security personnel in oil companies, bank escort, politicians P/A or Corporate organisation and private individuals.
This is what is obtainable in advance countries. They are well trained to carry arms & ammunition like pump action gun and other security gadgets. In fact I have come across many of them and have one-on-one discussion with them. Nobody can buy 35 years security experience in the market.
These officers served for 35 years financed by the Nigeria Police Force in different states in Nigeria and overseas.
Please my Daddies and Mummies in the system let’s look at it together to put it into trial whether it will work or not which I strongly believe that it will work for the Nigeria Police Force and our dear country.
I know that Police don’t have much to engage the retired police officers as consultants but let’s make use of what we have to get what we want by withdrawing all serving police officers from all companies, politicians, banks, oil companies, market places and individuals and replace them with retired but not tired officers.
If you check the number of current Police Officers serving directly in the Force today is not encouraging with the one attached to companies, politicians, banks and individual citizens.
Our prayers is to have a Police of our dream. Thanks.
