Dr. Musa Adamu Aliyu
The Senate has yesterday confirmed the appointment of former Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice in Jigawa State, Dr. Musa Adamu Aliyu, as the Chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission (ICPC).
The Senate also confirmed the appointment of Saka Bolaji Sulaiman and Prof. Gaji F. Dantata as members of the Federal Judicial Service Commission.
The confirmations which happened on the floor of the Red Chamber during plenary session was presided over by the Deputy President of the Senate, Barau Jibrin after the Senate Leader, Opeyemi Bamidele, moved a motion for the screening of the nominees.
The new ICPC chairman promised to be fair, impartial, transparent and accountable in his anti-corruption fight.
He also pledged to lead by example, adding that ICPC, under his watch, would be guided by the rule of law and shun media trials of persons under investigation.
