Represented by his Deputy, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, Gov. Abiodun said these policies had become imperative to up-scale investments in critical socio-economic sectors, infrastructure, and sustainable debt management, as well as deepen structural reforms in governance, public service, and business regulations.

Abiodun expressed these hopes, during the Remo Division Town Hall meeting, in preparation for the 2024–2026 Medium Term Expenditure Framework and the 2024 Appropriation Bill, saying his administration would be consistent in formulating and implementing developmental policies and programmes across all the critical sectors of the State.

The Governor posited that the importance of Town hall meetings cannot be overemphasised saying the process engenders a bottom-up approach, which provides a unique opportunity for the people to make meaningful contributions and provide input on their developmental needs and requirements.

The State helmsman revealed that in the past twelve months, Ogun State has witnessed tremendous progress in numerous areas of development, stating that the giant strides recorded in infrastructural development are top-notch and attuned towards a speedy transformation of the socio-economic life of the citizenry.

He promised that in adhering to the provisions of the State Fiscal Responsibility Law, his administration will continue to demonstrate the government’s commitment to transparency and accountability in the utilisation of resources for the overall benefit of the people.

In his remarks, Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Mr Olaolu Olabimtan, said the present administration valued citizens’ inputs which informed the town hall meetings, adding that citizens’ engagement contributes in no small measure to governance.

He noted that the meeting would help to improve citizens’ confidence and human capital development and create an enabling environment for Public Private Partnership.

Speaking on behalf of the three Local Government Chairmen in Remoland, Chairman Sagamu Local government, Hon. Afolabi Odulate, appreciated the state government for embarking on laudable projects, particularly the Agro Cargo Airport, assuring citizens of Remo land that all their requests would be attended to by the Governor.

Also speaking the Akarigbo of Remoland, HRM Oba (Dr). Babatunde Ajayi, commended the government for the developmental projects across the state, saying a lot still needs to be done, appealing to the government to fix Ode-Lemo Imuren and Sagamu Imure roads, Ajegunle road, improve security, power supply and digital learning facilities in schools.

On his part, the Ewusi of Makun, HRH Oba Timothy Akinsanya, appreciated the state government for the giant strides all over the state, appealing to the government to consider the construction of the road from High Court to Agbele being a major link road to other roads in Sagamu as well as the provision of a fire fighting vehicle for unforeseen emergencies.
