Aregbesola and Tinubu
Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, the Minister of Interior and a stalwart of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has congratulated Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu over his success at the just concluded Presidential Primary election of the party at Abuja.
In his congratulation letter which was written recently on his personal letterhead and titled “CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR VICTORY” Ogbeni Aregbesola, a former governor of Osun State and until recently, a long time close ally of Tinubu, described the election which had Asiwaju emerging as the Presidential Candidate of APC as a hard fought victory.
In his word, Ogbeni Aregbesola said: “I write to felicitate with you on your hard fought victory at the just concluded Presidential Primary election of our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC)”.
The letter which was signed personally by Ogbeni noted that by the victory, Tinubu has demonstrated once again that he is a dogged fighter and that in his quest for the establishment of a democratic society, he is willing to go the whole hog.
“It is my prayer that you will ride on the crest of the momentum of this triumph to lead our party to victory in next year’s General Elections”, Ogbeni noted.
“On behalf of my family and our associates, I heartily congratulate you on this well deserved victory”, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola concluded.
It would be recalled that Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola used to be a closed confidant of Asiwaju Tinubu as he once served under him in Lagos as Commissioner for Works but a wedge came in the relationship recently as both pitched different camps during the recent governorship election in Osun State.
However, the two have since been reconciled by Yoruba leaders and men of goodwill especially the Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi.
