The raging rave of the entertainment world in Nigeria, Habeeb Okikiola, the notable Zazu crooner a.k.a. Portable may soon be arrested by the police.
Police has revealed that Portable will be arrested immediately after the on-going investigation into his affairs, which included his past and present is completed.
The spokesman of the Lagos State Police Command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, made this in an interview with today with a newspaper.
Hundeyin stated that the command had yet to conclude preliminary investigation on the matter, adding that the singer has a case to answer when the investigation is concluded.
It will be recalled that the controversial musician had in a now-deleted video, which went viral on Monday, boasted of forming One Million Boys and another notorious group known as Ajah Boys.
Following the development, the Inspector-General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba, ordered Portable’s probe over his alleged ties to the notorious gang terrorising Lagos and parts of Ogun State.
In a statement issued by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Muyiwa Adejobi, Baba directed the Lagos Police Command to probe the singer over his ties to the cult groups.
“Sequel to the trending video of one Habeeb Okikiola aka Portable where he claimed to have formed the One-Million Boys cult group terrorising some parts of Lagos State, the IGP has ordered CP Lagos to investigate the indicting statement and take necessary legal action.
“This directive is premised on the continuous effort of the Nigeria Police Force to fish out pillars and sponsors of cult groups in order to decimate their activities and restore sanity to our society,” the statement read.
The singer however retracted his statement hours later, saying that he was referring to his fans as One Million Boys.
