The Olota of Ota, Oba (Prof) AbdulKabir Adeyemi Obalanlege has lauded the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun for upgrading the stool of the Elegushi of Egushi Ota Awori Kingdom in Ota, Ado Odo Local Government.
Speaking during the installation and official presentation of Staff of Office to the first monarch on the elevated stool, Oba Adio Maroof, Arole Ogunmisi Alagbe 1, Olota noted that Prince Abiodun played a crucial role in ensuring that the monarch’s stool was upgraded from a Baale to a Coronet Oba.
Oba Obalanlege said this act of the Governor would help to further bring development to the area.
He called for unity amongst the various communities in Ado-Odo Ota, noting that unity and harmony were essential ingredients for a prosperous and peaceful future.
In his speech at the installation, the Governor emphasised that traditional institutions were to serve as the bridge between the Government, grassroots and the people
Represented by his Deputy, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, Gov. Abiodun applauded the people of the community for maintaining peace and support during the selection process, stating that the installation aligned with the Oba and the Chiefs law of Ogun State 2021 and customs.
He informed that the Oba was expected to promote peaceful coexistence amongst his people, cooperate with other royal fathers, while adhering strictly to the land grabbing Prohibition Law.
He also called for continued support and cooperation from the indigenes of the community as they continue to identify with the new monarch.
The Chairman of Ado-Odo Ota Local Government, Hon. Adewale Lawal, in his speech encouraged the new monarch to make his community a haven for intending investors saying, this would create job opportunities for the indigenes of the area and prosper the state.
He admonished the new monarch to be fair and just in all matters concerning his subjects.
