Ogun Launches Statewide Campaign to Curb Measles-Rubella …Targets vaccination of three million children across 20 LGAs

Gov. Capo Abiodun of Ogun State

Ogun State Government has upgraded its ambulance services to make it a 24-hour response to road emergencies which may occur in any part of the State.
Commissioner for Health, Dr. Tomi Coker in a statement issued in Abeokuta, stated that the government would prioritise health of the people through its social welfare and wellbeing pillar in the ‘ISEYA’ mantra in the new year.
Coker revealed that the government had made available ambulance services in 16 locations across the three Senatorial Districts of the State, adding that the State Hospitals in Abeokuta and Ota, as well as the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospitals, Sagamu had been activated as ambulance bases for critical emergencies.
The Commissioner said her Ministry had also improved Community Ambulance Services, saying it would provide prompt movement of injured or seriously sick members of the public to the nearest health facility or referred patients from one hospital to another.
The present administration has increased the State’s ambulance points from 4 to 16, with all of them fully functional. Even though no one prays for ghastly accidents, it is the responsibility of the government to provide prompt ambulance services where necessary.
“Our ambulance locations are as follows; Abeokuta, in front of Obasanjo Hill Top-Gate and within the State Government Secretariat, Oke-Mosan, Odeda- Opposite Odeda LGA Secretariat, Itori- in front of FRSC Office Itori- Ewekoro LGA, Ifo- in front of Safety and Fire Service Building, Ifo town, Sagamu Interchange, Sagamu, Ibiade Junction, Sagamu -Benin Express Way, Ibiade, and Ijebu-Ode- at Mobalufon Junction, Ijebu-Ode Iperu-Ilishan Road.
“Others include; Mowe- in front of Safety and Fire Service Building- Mowe, Oru- Oru Motor park, Oru-Ijebu, Ota- Joju Junction, Sango-Ota, Idiroko- in front of General Hospital, Idiroko,  Ilaro- in front of Internal Revenue Service’s Office, Ilaro, Ayetoro- in front of Comprehensive High School, Ayetoro, and Imeko- Opposite Nigeria Custom Service Office, Imeko”, she stated
She advised residents to avail themselves of the State Medical Emergency Call Line 08112 0000 33 and National Emergency toll-free hotline 112 after an accident has occurred, saying the State has enough ambulances in its fleet to respond within the shortest possible time and called on residents to make safety their watchword on the road throughout the new year.
