The First Lady of Ogun State, Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun has rushed to the rescue of Mrs. Esther Shaibu, a 32-year-old mother of five who was abandoned by her husband after giving birth to triplets on the second day into the new year.

The Ogun State First Lady promised to cover the woman’s family upkeep for the immediate future.
She also appreciated the medical team, led by the Consultant Gynecologist, Dr. Olukayode Taiwo, that attended to the woman for professionalism and high quality of care that ensured the survival of the children, born at 2.4kg, 1.5kg and 1.08kg respectively.
“I will inform the Governor about their situation and explore long-term economic support,” Mrs. Abiodun said, emphasising the importance of early antenatal care, especially in high-risk cases like multiple births.
