In a move to enhance surveillance, intelligence gathering and rapid response to all forms of security threats across it’s operational enclave, the Ogun State Amotekun Corps has launched a dedicated close circuit television (CCTV) network.

Ogun State Government yesterday commissioned the CCTV Control Room  at a ceremony witnessed by many heads of security agencies and top state officials who lauded the development as a needed step towards strengthening the State security architecture,
Performing the inauguration on behalf of Governor Dapo Abiodun at the Amotekun Corps Headquaters, Oke–Ilewo, Abeokuta, Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Tokunbo Talabi, said the state-of-the-art facility was designed to bolster surveillance and immediate response to security threats a
cross the State.
He gave Kudos to the State Security Network Agency, Amotekun Corps, for its dedication, professionalism and unwavering commitment to safeguarding lives and properties.
The Governor noted that the installation of the CCTV control room reflected his administration’s resolve to deploy technology-driven solutions to tackle crime in order to ensure public safety.
According to him, “security remains a top priority of the Government and the support given to Amotekun underscores the administration’s belief in proactive and community-based policing.”
Governor Abiodun expressed satisfaction with the Corps’ operational strides since its inception, emphasising that the agency had continued to complement other security agencies in maintaining peace and stability across the State.
He assured the Corps of the State government’s continued backing, stressing that investments in security infrastructure are investments in the socio-economic development of the State.
In his remarks, the Corps Commander, Ogun Amotekun, Brigadier General Alade Adedigba (rtd), described the CCTV Control Room as a milestone achievement in the Corps’ operational history.
He explained that the facility would enable real-time monitoring of strategic locations, improve intelligence sharing and enhance coordination with other security agencies in responding swiftly to incidents.
General Adedigba reaffirmed the Corps’ commitment to professionalism, discipline and collaboration with sister agencies to ensure a safer Gateway State.
He appreciated the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun for the present administration’s consistent support and pledged that the officers and men of Amotekun would continue to justify the confidence reposed in them by remaining vigilant and people-focused in the discharge of their duties.
Speaking at the event, the State Commissioner of Police, Lanre Ogunlowo, said the cordial relationship among security agencies in the State would continue to grow, thereby reducing the crime rate to the barest minimum.
He emphasised the importance of synergy, intelligence sharing and joint operations, noting that sustained collaboration remained          key to ensuring lasting peace and security across the State.
