Akeem Oluseye, a rising star in the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abeokuta North Local Government Area of Ogun State and a former House of Assembly Aspirant of the party, has earned kudos from the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ).
Speaking during a courtesy visit by Oluseye to the Council’s Secretariat, Iwe Royin, Abeokuta, yesterday, Comrade Olanrewaju said the APC chieftain deserved commendations for his bold decision as a youth to come out and try his mettle in the tough arena of politics at this period in time.
Comrade Wale Olanrewaju noted that Oluseye, an IT Consultant, also deserved to be praised for his decision to bring his professional ideas into politics at the grassroot level.
Comrade Olanrewaju, flanked by his executives, expressed delight to Oluseye, noting that if young professionals with track records of leadership takes leadership positions in the country, the society will take a different shape.
Comrade Olanrewaju stressed that the state would have been better if professionals with good leadership have been in the local government council in the past.
He appreciated Oluseye for the visit, mentioning that such visit was the first from any grassroot politician, promising to give necessary support as the local government political activities starts.
In his short remark, Hon Oluseye emphasized the importance of media in grassroot development, promising to get the media involved on his political journey very soon.
He also called on youth participation in politics as the only way to change the narrative in our society.
Oluseye promised to make his wealth of knowledge impact on his activities in politics and be a good ambassador of the youth.
