Most Revd. Chaplain Gideon Akintunde, Interim National President of NCABAC
An organization, the National Coalition of Apostles, Bishops, Archbishops And Cardinals of Nigeria (NCABAC) has debuted to offer checks and balances to the excesses of the “so called general overseers and sole founders of churches in Christendom” in order to sanitize the church in the country.
Speaking recently with members of the Christian Media Practitioners of Nigeria (ACMPN) at his office in Abeokuta, the Interim National President of the association, Most Revd. Chaplain Gideon Bamidele Akintunde expressed disgust at the way some Men of God run the church of God.
The Man of God insisted that with the coming of NCABAC, end may have now come to the unrestricted freedom or license assumed by Christian clerics and founders of churches to do as they wish without any form of control whatsoever.
Lamenting that the church in Nigeria needs to be redirected to the straight path, Chaplain Akintunde insisted that NCABAC, a members only association would be strict as its members will not be misguided or allowed to exhibit unilateral behavior inimical to the body of Christ or the spiritual growth of the church.
The president of NCABAC also condemned what he called the ungodly stock in trade and unnecessary display of wealth by the “so called men of God” which he said has made many gone astray in pursuant of wealth rather than salvation.
Archbishop Akintunde also frowned at how some Pastors, Apostles and Bishops display spiritual immaturity and shallow knowledge of the words of God, noting that having a crowd in a church may not be a sign of divine approval of the church because Jesus Christ has said that “where two or three are gathered in my name, there, I shall be in their midst”.
Archbishop Akintunde noted that the National Coalition of Apostles, Archbishops, Bishops and Cardinals of Nigeria (NCABAC) is out to sanitize the body of Christ by ensuring strict adherence to Biblical tenets, precepts and injuctions among his members so that the church would be presented as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable unto God in other to save souls from perdition.
He also confirmed that the association would support the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in bringing sanity into the administration of churches and the behavior of the clergies.
