Mr. Ahmed Idris
The Minister of Finance , Budget and National Planning, Mrs. Zainab Ahmed, has suspended the Accountant-General of the Federation, Mr. Ahmed Idris, over the N80 billion fraud allegation that is now the talk of the town.
Mr. Idris was arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), in Kano, on Monday over the N80b fraud and for allegedly refusing to honour EFCC invitations several to come and help in their investigation.
The Minister’s Special Adviser on Media, Mr. Tanko Abdullahi confirmed the suspension, explaining that it was indefinite to allow for unhindered investigations into the fraud allegations.
