Ogun State Environmental Sanitation Exercise for the month of March will hold tomorrow Saturday, March 26, 2022, between hours of 7.00 am and 10.00 am but there will not be any restriction of movement across the 20 Local Government Areas of the State.
This was contained in a release signed by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Environment, Engr. Rasaki Ojetola.
The release enjoined residents to use the time to clear drainage channels, clean their premises and dispose waste accordingly, at designated points for the government accredited waste collectors to evacuate.
The release added that all waste collectors and equipment of Ogun State Waste Management Agency (OGWAMA), will be available to complement the effort of Private Sector Participation (PSP), in various communities to collect waste generated during the exercise.
It stated that anyone found dumping waste inappropriately, would be prosecuted in accordance with the State Environmental laws, calling for the resident’s continuous support in maintaining cleanliness and safe environment.
All Local Government officials and advocacy groups on environmental sanitation are enjoined to take charge in their localities to ensure smooth running of the exercise
