Onimeko, HRM Oba B.A.O Olanite Egi-Ogboye, Akanku IV

The Imeko Union in Diaspora, UK Chapter has gifted the Ogun State General Hospital, Imeko,  popularly known as KKB bedding items worth millions of Naira to support quality health care delivery to the people of Imeko and its environs.

The items which were delivered to the Medical Director of the hospital by the President of the Union, Otunba Anthony Ajobode, comprises of 30 foams,30 pillows, 30 Mouka mattresses, 30 bedsheets with pillow slips, 30 mackintosh for protecting mattresses and 3 drip stands.

According to Otunba Anthony Ajibode, “We give back to our root no matter what. Health they say is wealth and we have prioritized that. Next time, we may shift attention to education and what have you. And we didn’t see any big deal in what we have to warrant blowing trumpet about that”.

He further stated, “ Moreso, the philosophy guiding whatever we are giving is taken from the holy book that says your left hand must not know what your right hand is giving. There is no big deal in what we have done, we should even do more”.

Expressing gratitude for the kind gesture on behalf of the hospital management at the palace of Onimeko (HRM Oba B.A.O Olanite (Egi-Ogboye, Akanku IV), Dr Taiwo  Ayobami appreciated the monarch for facilitating the donation to the hospital.

In the words of Dr Ayobami, .”Kabiesi,we need to come here to express our appreciation for the rare support you have been rendering to us at the hospital. We thank you immensely for mobilizing your sons and daughters in the UK to do this marvelous thing. May your reign be long in good health and abundance of wealth”.

The monarch, in his response,, said, “I am thanking our people in UK for doing this.  We are very glad for this and I pray God Almighty to bless them abundantly. May they all prosper in that foreign land and come back home with all the fruits of their labour. None of them will be brought home dead by Gods grace.  This is a clarion call to others in America and all other parts of the world even those at home. We must join hands to develop our community”.

His Royal Majesty explains that the hospital got its alias KKB  (KIA KIA BUSINESS), which refers to the promptness and rare professionalism with which the earliest handlers of the hospital operated in its earliest days.
