                                                   Mohammed Hayatoudeen

Mohammed Hayatoudeen, a presidential aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has assured that he would tackle the issue of insecurity head on the moment he won as the president of the country.
In a question and answer parley with the press immediately after his meeting with the delegates of his party in Abeokuta on Thursday,  Hayatoudeen said his first task on assumption of office would be to institute a tactical security committee to find a lasting panacea to the annoying issue.
Hayatoudeen, who also visited former President Olusegun Obasanjo at his office in the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library in Abeokuta said the tactical committee would thoroughly debate the issue of safety of lives and property which is a most pressing issue to Nigerians now.
The presidential hopeful who was in Abeokuta as part of his tour of the country to consult with members and delegates of his party in preparation for the presidential primary of his party, PDP said the tactical committee would be empowered to roll back all the threats to the nation’s security.
He acknowledged that the nation is in very bad shape and that it required somebody with deep sitted knowledge and sound wisdom like himself to fix the nation.
Hayatoudeen noted that God has been very kind to Nigeria as it endowed it with all necessary resources to become great but that all challenges confronting the nation were self inflicted.
He pointed out that everything is collapsing in our own eyes but insisted that as an economist,  he has the capacity and the experience to turn the country around and restore its glory.
Also speaking at the party’s secretariat in Abeokuta, the Ogun State PDP Chairman, Sikirulai Ogundele said the ruling All Progressives Congress has woefully failed the nation.
He said even in the case of the striking university lecturers, the party has failed totally, noting that if they could not succeed on a minute segment of the national issue, how could they hope to turn the nation around.
Ogundele begged Nigerians not to return the party to governance as that could mean continued hunger, insecurity, banditry and all sorts of problems now plaguing the country.
