Alhaji Shehu Idris, Emir of Zaria
The Emir of Zauzau the town notably known as Zaria in the Northern part of Nigeria, Alhaji Shehu Idris is dead.
The Emir died at at the age of 84 in Army Reference Hospital, Kaduna State a few hours ago after a long battle with an undisclosed ailment.
The monarch spent 45 years on the throne. He ascended the throne in 1975 at the age of 36.
Till his demise, the late monarch was one of the highly respected emirs of the north as he was a forthright leader of his people who saw his domain, Zaria through many phases of stupendous development.
He will be greatly missed by his people and the whole of Nigeria.
