Archbishop Dr. Olaoluwa Olusanjo Oluwadairo of Jerusalem City Transformation Church, Abeokuta, Ogun State, has come against pastors and founders of churches who are in the habit of proliferating branches all about the places without adequate care for their souls.

In an exclusive interview with the Guild Of Christian Faith Reporters Of Nigeria (GCFRN) during the week, Archbishop Oluwadairo said the target should not be proliferation of branches but in making sure the members you have are adequately mentored to make heaven.

He frowned at having many branches for the sake of turnovers and large offerings, saying this amounted to extortion. He said the man of God should impact the lives of the fold given to him by God and not just be after the weekly offerings.

Archbishop Oluwadairo also called on Men of God to be careful in their prophecies and utterances in the public and not to resort to using prophecies as vehicles to fame and wealth. He warned that a true man of God would not rush to the public with every prophecy everytime.

Archbishop Oluwadairo said even prophecy should be put to test by the man of God whether it is truly from God, wether it edifies God and wether it proves God. He said if it met these three conditions, the man of God must also ascertain whether God wants him to go to town with it or just to be written down for the future.

According to the Oluwadairo, prophecy is a delicate matter as it is a means by which God relates with His servants and so should not be cheapened. He noted that any messenger of God who is carrying His message should not be in the habit of using it to prove himself.

Speaking against the backdrop of increasing numbers of men of God coming to the public gallery to say one prophecy or the other and those seeking to enrich themselves via this channel, Archbishop Oluwadairo described such practices as unwholesome.

He pointed out that if the man of God attached money to prophecy, then where is his contentment even amidst lack, which is the mark of the calling. He noted that if money is attached to prophecy, the tendency is to sugar-coat it and to also be searching for only the wealthy to prophesy to.

Oluwadairo noted that riches does not distinguish a man of God, neither does poverty but his attitude to the situation God puts him and so what the public should watch out for are the fruits of the man of God.

The archbishop whose church at the back of Ita-Oshi Garage in Abeokuta has lots of people with one ailment or the other and those who confirmed that they have been healed told GCFRN that the ultimate target of the man of God should be to make heaven. He said it was not wealth that stood out John the Baptist as a Man of God but adhering to the truth always.

He noted that the church of God would be the best place and a sanctuary to the oppressed if Men of God speak the truth always and adhere to His precepts.

Archbishop Oluwadairo therefore enjoined all Men of God to preach the gospel and love of God and stop adopting marketing strategy to attract people into their folds.
