All Progressives Congress (APC) has dispelled all doubts and rumors surrounding the health of its presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu but maintained that he could still lose the forthcoming election.
The spokesperson of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, Festus Keyamo confirmed that Asiwaju Bola Tinubu is out of the country but in good health.
But the national chairman of the party, Senator Abdullahi Adamu said the ruling party may lose the 2023 presidential election if governors are not accorded importance in the scheme of things
The national chairman of the APC made the statement at a meeting held at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja on Wednesday, October 5.
Senator Abdullahi Adamu, the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), says the ruling party will lose the 2023 presidential poll without the support of its state governors.
Speaking on Wednesday, Adamu said governors elected on the APC platform are the commanders of the party’s fortunes in their various states.
“We cannot make meaningful progress in the affairs of these states, particularly in an election year that is approaching.
“We cannot plan without the buy-in of our governors so that we can stand together, believing that we share same aspirations.
“We will plan together to see how best we can deliver the interest of the party and ensure that victory is ours in 2023 general election that is by the corner.
Keyamo in his own assertion on Tinubu’s health said, “He’s hale, hearty and healthy. He’s out of the country for a number of days. No controversy, about his whereabouts. And he’s not a president to issue statements as to his whereabouts.
“And I spoke with his son this morning. I spoke with Seyi and he said Asiwaju is fine. He was sleeping.”
Keyamo added that Tinubu will campaign on a tripod thing which is the record of APC, records of his leadership as a former governor of Lagos and the manifestoes.
