Basorun Oladipo

Ogun indigenes and residents have been enjoined to be patient and supportive of the administration of Governor Dapo Abiodun as it may yet record unprecedented achievements surpassing his predecessors in the state, Basorun Muyiwa Oladipo(a.k.a. B.M.O), a former Speaker of the State House of Assembly has pleaded.
In a recent interview exclusively with THE STATEPOST in his office in the heart of Abeokuta, the Capital of Ogun State, the lawyer cum politician urged people of the state to be patient with the new administration so as not to precipitate it into undue haste.
Noting that the governor is barely a year on the saddle, Basorun Oladipo quoted the popular adage “slow and steady wins the race” to back his explanation.
He stressed that it is better for Governor Abiodun to be slow, steady, stable but progressive than flitter about frittering the state’s resources in order to impress a few people but end up achieving nothing.

Gov. Abiodun

Basorun Oladipo, a consummate politician who had also been commissioner twice in the state warned that the people should desist from judging the present administration by the landmarks of its predecessor.
He noted that such judgements would be unfair as it would be premature and unnecessary as two different individuals with different visions and modus operandi
are involved.
The lawyer cum politician who accentuated his admonition with a Yoruba adage “Oba mewa, igba mewa” noted that there are bound to be differences in the two administrations as each has its unique reason and style.
He pointed out that the state has persistently been lucky in its elected governors as all have consistently achieved reputable landmarks to the credit of the state since the beginning of the present democratic dispensation.

Basorun Oladipo

Basorun Oladipo noted that as nobody can rubbish the laudable achievements of Otunba Gbenga Daniel whose marks dotted the state, so also would it be wrong for us to wave off the achievements of Senator Ibikunle Amosun as mono-achievement.
He pointed out that Senator Amosun recorded giant strides in many areas apart from road infrastructure adding that the this sector was mainly noticeable because Abeokuta and other parts of the state have no bridges until his coming.
The former governor changed the face of the state’s landscape and scored a distinction in this area, he noted.
Basorun Oladipo therefore warned the present government in the state not to make the mistake of tailoring its administration to that of its predecessor but to use it merely as a guide.

Hon Oladipo

He advised Governor Abiodun to have a unique selling point that would carve a niche for him and pursue this goal vehemently with focus on other areas too.
Basorun Oladipo warned that the governor should also note that his achievements may go unnoticed except they are amplified by appropriate megaphones.
