Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has called on the 20 indigenes of the State who were among the 450 conferred with National Honours Award by President Muhammadu Buhari to see the award as a further call on them to give more in terms of service than they had ever done to the people and the State.
The governor asked them to attract more investments to the State, as their influence and connections could facilitate private participation in the industrial development programmes of his administration.
Prince Abiodun made the request during a reception organised for the awardees in Abuja, saying their respective honours had shown that the State was a haven of great men and women with innovations and achievements in all fields of human endeavours.
Abiodun stated that the conferment of the national honours award on the recipients was a further call on them to give more in terms of service than they had ever done to the people and the State, urging them to support the government in the delivery of a focused and qualitative governance.
According to the Governor, “as captains of industries, l enjoin you to help bring more investments to our State. Your influence and connections can attract private participation in our industrial development programmes. There are different avenues where investors can participate in the ISEYA mantra of our development agenda.
“As sons and daughters of Ogun State, we expect you to be more involved in our collective vision to give the State focused and qualitative governance and to create the enabling environment for a public-private partnership, which is fundamental to the creation of an enduring economic development and individual prosperity of the people of Ogun”, he said.
The State helmsman noted that his administration had formulated new investment-friendly policies, to create an enabling environment for investment to thrive, adding that the innovation covered land administration, judicial system, strengthening of a security network, creation of new government agencies and many more.
In his remark, the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osibajo congratulated the awardees and enjoined them to always remain good ambassadors of the State.
Responding on behalf of the recipients, the Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remoland, Oba Babatunde Ajayi, appreciated President Muhammadu Buhari for the honour bestowed on them, saying they would continue to add value to the country.
