.            Tinubu, Obi and Atiku

By Foluso Adelaja

A new twist has now entered the controversies trailing the country’s just concluded Presidential Election as the winner of the contest and the two leading runners up have all now proceeded to court to contest the result of the election.

Emerging facts from all the different parties that took part in the Presidential Election indicated that the battle is now set for a free for all fight or what Nigerians call “Roforofo” fight as all contestants in the election have now turned litigants, ready to war it out in the court room.

President-elect Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has also now put together a legal team to challenge the results of his strongest rivals in the last presidential election, Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi in court.

Asiwaju Tinubu and the APC has constituted a legal team to challenge Peter Obi’s 6.1 million votes in the last presidential election as they are insisting that the Labour Party’s candidate manipulated the process that gave him such massive votes.

Tinubu is also filing a cross-petition against Obi, alleging that the Labour Party’s candidate rigged the election which gave him 6.1 million votes especially in the Southeast.

Tinubu is therefore seeking a Court Order to inspect electoral materials as it pertains to the Labour Party in the Southeast.

Recall that Alhaji Abubakar Atiku of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who came second in the election and Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) who came third had first disagreed with the result of the election insisting that it was rigged in favour of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and had therefore proceeded to court.
