The Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, has dissolved the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad of the Nigeria Police Force nationwide

He said the operatives will be redeployed to other police formations and commands.

Adamu announced this in a live broadcast this Sunday afternoon.

The announcement came after days of online and offline protests against the brutality and extra-judicial killings by SARS operatives which had incurred casualties all over the nation and several properties damaged.

In Oyo, a person was killed while the car of the Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Engineer Noimot Salako was vandalised.
