The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State, Honorable Sikirulai Olawale Ogundele has said that the ruling party in the country, the All Progressives Congress (APC) is not a political party but a cult of rabble rousers.
Speaking at an exclusive interview with the Independent Newspapers Association of Nigeria (INAN) in Abeokuta recently, the PDP chieftain pointed out that the only party that met the global standard and dictates of a political party in Nigeria is the Peoples Democratic party (PDP).
He noted that the APC failed to earn the status of a political party as it has consistently failed to hold its Congress where party officials would be elected but instead has been handpicking its leaders like a cult.
“The constitution says that the affairs of a political party should be ran through democratically elected officials at Congress but APC has consistently failed in this regard”, he pointed out.
Honourable Ogundele also noted that the ruling party has consistently failed the people in several regards adding that many people have now realized this fact.
He pointed out that a party that could not even hold an ordinary meeting of its stakeholders is incapable of ruling a country.
The PDP chieftain jubilantly noted that the Supreme Court has burst the burble of APC as it has now ruled that whatever its handpicked chairman does is null and void by pointing out that a governor cannot hold two executive positions.
Honourable Ogundele said his party, the PDP is just patiently waiting for 2023 when it will confront APC that it is not a political party and so cannot go to the polls.
Lamenting that APC has failed the nation in all sectors, particularly in the Security Sector, Honourable Ogundele noted that Nigerians fell for APC’s farce in the last general elections when they failed to insist that the party should clarify its change mantra.
He described APC as unfocused, missionless and clueless pointing out that the party has no blueprint to take the nation out of the woods as they are merely running a ticky-tacky government.
