In a study, it has now been confirmed that those who had recently engaged in intimate activity handle public speaking better than others who had not or engaged in other forms of intimate activity.

Intimacy directly affects physical health, according to Medicalnewstoday.

It also offers a variety of scientifically documented health advantages, such as improved metabolic function, lower risk of hypertension, and better cardiac health.

Regular intimate activity, however, has a considerably bigger effect on several brain processes and hormones as a result.

According to Medicalnewstoday, the following are effect of intimacy on your brain function.

1. Intimacy calms your brain down.

Humans were less worried, according to the same research that suggested that having regular intercourse helped rats’ brains.

In one study, it was discovered that those who had recently engaged in intimate activity responded more favourably to stressful events like public speaking than others who had not or engaged in other forms of intimate activity.

How does intimacy relieve stress? In this instance, by bringing down blood pressure.

2. Your brain releases dopamine.

According to Medicalnewstoday, intimacy leads the brain to emit substantially larger quantities of some neurochemicals.

These chemical changes aid in pacing and regulating intimate activity.

Dopamine is one of these neurotransmitters, and it encourages sensations of desire, exhilaration, contentment, and reward.

Dopamine, a crucial component of the reward system in the brain, is released in the same region of the brain that becomes active when people take particular foods or medications.

The hypothalamus, a region of the brain, is also responsible for controlling body temperature as well as other functions including appetite, thirst, and emotional reactions.

3. Your brain releases oxytocin.

An increase in intimate desire is caused by the hormone oxytocin, which functions as a neurotransmitter in the brain.

Contrary to popular belief, oxytocin does not promote post-intimacy relationship attachment.

According to researchers, there is no proof of this in people. Only a small amount of speculative research suggests that oxytocin and vasopressin may help women feel more emotionally attached after intercourse.

4. Your brain releases serotonin.
People may experience depression if they don’t get enough serotonin, which regulates mood and sleep.

Since serotonin levels rise during intercourse, it may provide emotions of joy and tranquilly to follow.

According to research, when done in a healthy environment, intimacy can improve memory, lower stress, and lift your mood.

5. Your brain releases norepinephrine.

Norepinephrine stimulates the sympathetic nervous system in the brain, enhancing desire, attention, and energy.

Norepinephrine is released to speed our heart rate and awaken us. High levels of norepinephrine are also linked to a number of stereotypes of being in love or desire, such as a loss of appetite, excessive energy, and difficulty sleeping.
