The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), has paid a visit to Ogun State to intimate the State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board of the current hajj operations and policies in accordance with Saudi Arabia Authorities.
NAHCON’s Commissioner for Operations, Prince Anofiu Elegushi led the fourteen-men committee of the National Hajj Commission to Abeokuta yesterday for the sensitisation.
Prince Elegushi, said the visit was a yearly nationwide activity meant to acquaint and avail States’ Board of the necessary guidelines that must be followed in conducting the yearly exercise.
He advised that early preparation and registration should be encouraged in order to allow them meet up with the deadlines announced by the Saudi Authorities, noting that regular evaluation of the past exercises could yield additional improvement in the present operation.
Also speaking, Executive Secretary of the State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Taiwo Ajibola, said that the sensitisation visit became necessary in order to avail them of the present procedures and guidelines of the 2027 Hajj and to know the readiness of the Board towards the forthcoming exercise.
