Baale of Opeji, Alhaji Adesina Rasak

The Baale of Opeji, Alhaji Adesina Rasak has made a passionate plea for assistance from men of goodwill to sustain the almost daunting war against Fulani herdsmen menaces in his domain and its surrounding communities.
In his plea for help entitled “SECURITY CHALLENGES IN OPEJI” which was circulated online recently, Alhaji Rasak noted that “the situation in Opeji and its surrounding area, namely: Obete, Bode Olude, Alabata and Opeji has become challenging, alarming and very traumatic”.
Stressing the urgency involved in his call for assistance, the Baale recalled that “we have taken some steps to address this issue but more needed to be done” noting that “all our security agencies, i.e. Police,  The OPC, VGN, So – Safe and Hunters have been doing  a  very good job, but they are underfunded, under-equipped and over stretched”.
The rest of his plea for help which was published online read thus:
We have had unending cases of armed robbery,  kidnapping and Fulani  herdsmen encroachment on farms with impunity.
We pray that we shall not experience famine in our land by God’s grace (Amen).
However, because of the challenges we are facing, we need immediate support, assistance and cooperation of our people to surmount these problems.
The Security operatives in this area as mentioned, need our help to carry out their duties. We have only two Police men supported by other security agencies without salaries, allowances and incentives.
We need your urgent support to continue with this good work.
”Ombo, ombo,awon la de de”.
We need materials and equipments i.e. for logistics like Okada and other necessary things to combat this evil menace.
At the meeting of Council of Baale in Opeji and its surrounding communities held on February 24th 2021, we agreed to establish a “SECURITY TRUST FUND” where financial support donated could be pooled and utilized.
We will appreciate the support of all good people of Opeji both home and abroad, the Egba people and indeed all Nigerians to support our efforts at achieving a crime free environment.
The account number for this fund is
Opeji Traditional Council of Chiefs,
First Bank
Account number: 3093126987.
We thank you and promised all donated money shall be judiciously accounted for in due course. God Bless You All.
