…Lines up programs to mark 25th Convocation Ceremony and 48th Founding Day Anniversary

The Federal College of Education, Abeokuta holds a Health Walk today by 7.00 a.m at the College Sports Centre as part of the activities lined up to celebrate the college’s 25th Convocation ceremony and 48th Founding Day Anniversary.
The Health Walk, tagged ‘Keep Fit Exercise’ will be followed by a media briefing by 12.00pm at the Council Chamber of the college also today.
This is contained in a statement signed by the Deputy Director of Information of the college, Mr. Anthony Ogundipe and obtained by THE STATEPOST last Saturday.
Programs lined up to mark the double celebration of the college’s 25th Convocation ceremony and 48th Founding Day Anniversary had commenced last Friday with a Jumat Service at the College Central Mosque and will run through to Thursday 7th March when the college will hold its Convocation ceremony.
A Thanksgiving Service had been held yesterday, Sunday, March 3 at the Chapel of Peace also on campus.
A Health Awareness programme is scheduled to hold tomorrow, Tuesday by 9.00am while a musical presentation and Convocation Play will be held by 11.00am at the Theatre Arts auditorium and a novelty match by 3.00pm on the same day.
On Wednesday, March 6, there will be exhibition by Schools, Directorates and Departments by 8.00am at Dr. Kunle Filani Academic Theatre along with commissioning of projects.
On the same day, the Chairman, Federal Civil Service Commission and Professor of Public Policy, Lead City University, Tunji Olaopa will be delivering the Convocation lecture with the topic “Dual-Mode Programme in Colleges of Education as Catalyst for Advancing Teacher Education in Nigeria: Issues, Challenges and Opportunities”, under the chairmanship of former Executive Secretary, National Universities Commission, Prof. Peter Okebukola, @ Dr Kunle Filani Academic Theatre.
There will be Award and Cultural Day by 3:30pm at FENACOMS Hall, and
Alumni Night by 7.00pm.
The Conferment of Fellowship Awards and Award of Prizes holds on the graduation day at Aduke Maina Hall by 10.00am
